Overview
Welcome to the ICP HUB Philippines (ISLA Camp) Hybrid Hackathon titled RAITE 2024 iThink Hackathon
This event is designed to foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration among developers nationwide. Participants will work on projects in one of two tracks: Web Application, both utilizing backend APIs deployed on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP).
Duration: 30 days
Target Teams: 10 teams each track
Potential Partners: Members of PSITE R3
Theme
This hackathon requires you to develop a web that addresses one of the United Nations’ SDGs. You must choose only one.
Track
Web Application Track
- Focus on building innovative and functional web applications.
- Utilize ICP for backend services and API integration.
Prerequisites and Eligibility
- Each participant or team must have access to the Internet and necessary development tools.
- Familiarity with the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) is mandatory, and mentoring for this will be provided.
- Teams must not have received a grant or hackathon prizes from the DFINITY Foundation or ICP HUB Philippines (ISLA Camp) for the project they wish to submit.
- Teams must contain members above the age of 18
Team Formation
- Participants can register as individuals or in teams (maximum of 5 members per team).
- Teams should have a mix of skills, including frontend and backend development, design, and project management.
Schedule
iThink Hackathon: Pump up the jam is a hybrid hackathon taking place from September 24 to October 24 , that will include both online and in-real life activities.
Registration phase: Sep 16 - Sep 23
Kickoff phase: Sep 24
- Opening ceremony and hackathon briefing.
- Introduction to ICP and available resources.
- Team formation and ideation sessions.
Workshop Sessions:
Developing and Deploying your frontend on ICP
Developing and Deploying your first CRUD backend on ICP
Development Phase: Sep 25 - Oct 19
- Continuous development of projects.
- Daily check-ins and mentorship sessions.
- Workshops and Q&A sessions with experts.
Submission & Judging: Oct 21
Final project submission
Online demo sessions for judges and project pitching
Deliberation and announcement of Top 3
Awarding: October 24
IRL event (RAITE 2024)
In-person demo sessions for judges and project pitching of Top 3.
Announcement of winners.
Closing ceremony and prize distribution.
Development Requirements
- Web Application Track:
- Must utilize ICP for backend API.
- Frontend can be developed using any technology (e.g., Next.js, Vite, React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Applications should be responsive and user-friendly.
Submission Guidelines
- Submit the source code via GitHub.
- Pre-existing code bases are allowed as long as they integrate the Internet Computer Protocol Backend API.
- Provide a detailed README file including:
- Project description.
- Setup instructions.
- Technologies used.
- Team members and their roles.
- Provide a live demo link or a video walkthrough of the application (max 5 minutes).
- Submission deadline: End of Oct 20, 11:59 PM (local time).
Judging Criteria
- Innovation: Creativity and originality of the idea.
- Functionality: How well the application works and its usability.
- Design and User Experience: Visual appeal and user interaction.
- Technical Implementation: Use of ICP and other technologies.
- Presentation: Clarity and effectiveness of the project demo and documentation.
Prizes
Web3 Decentralized Application Track
1st Place: ₱25,000
2nd Place: ₱15,000
3rd Place: ₱10,000
Special DApp Award: ₱7,500
Prizes will be announced on the IRL Showcase day in RAITE 2024 on Oct 24th and winners will be awarded within 7-days after the announcement.
Code of Conduct
- Participants must adhere to the hackathon’s code of conduct.
- Respect for all participants, mentors, and judges is mandatory.
- Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.

- Guidance from experienced mentors and developers.
