Fides Entrepreneurship Dinner W/Jeremy Tate
To Fund, Form, and Mentor the Next Generation of Catholic Entrepreneurs
On Wednesday January 28th at 7:00PM at our candle lit seated dinner we are honored to host Jeremy Tate, Founder & CEO of the Classic Learning Test (CLT) , a standardized exam that has become one of the most important and disruptive Catholic-led alternatives to the College Boards, SAT and ACT.
The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Politico and The New Yorker have reported it as a key competitor for students to the SAT and ACT, with more than 500,000 students taking the exam between 2023 and 2025.
“There was a very sweet Dominican sister creating two new classes. One was an intro to Christian Apologetics, and one was an intro to philosophy, and she was super excited, and I was excited and then registration time came, and basically no students signed up, you know. And I was talking to the students, you know, why didn't you want to take philosophy? And the main response was, you know, Mr. Tate, there are not any AP points. So that was the beginning of this. Like, this is crazy. We can't get our Catholic kids at a Catholic school to take philosophy or Christian apologetics because of the power of the College Board. “
CLT was born from a moment in a Catholic high school that revealed something shocking.
Its education program is rooted in wisdom, beauty, and the great Catholic intellectual tradition such as through the tradition of Saint Aquinas, Saint Augustine, J.R.R Tolkien, Pascal, Saint John Henry Newman, Chesterton, which are all required reads for the CLT.
At Fides, Jeremy will share:
