About Event

Position yourself → Create the right offer → Apply for the right jobs and write better proposals.

Getting clients on Upwork is not just about writing a good proposal.

Before the proposal, there are other questions you need to answer:

What exactly am I offering?
How should I position myself?
Which jobs should I be applying for?
And when I find the right job, what do I actually say in my proposal?

That’s what we’re working through in this masterclass.

We started with Upwork Proposal Writing, but we couldn’t finish the class because of network issues. So we’re continuing next Saturday, finishing proposal writing, taking your questions, and then moving into Upwork Positioning and Offer Creation.

The goal is to help you understand how these pieces work together, instead of treating your profile, offer and proposals as separate things.

Part 1: Upwork Proposal Writing

We’ll finish what we started and go deeper into:

  • How to decide if a job is worth your Connects

  • How to properly read a job post

  • How to identify the client’s facts, signals and instructions

  • How to find the actual problem and outcome behind a job post

  • How to decide what your proposal should focus on

  • How to choose the right opening angle

  • How to choose the right proposal framework for different jobs

  • What experience and proof to include

  • What to leave out

  • How to answer screening questions

  • How to use AI to help you write proposals without sending generic AI-written applications

  • Common mistakes that can cost you interviews

And no, I’m still not giving you one “winning proposal template” to use for every job.

I want you to understand why you’re writing what you’re writing, so when the client, job or situation changes, you know how to adjust your proposal.

We’ll also have a Q&A after the proposal writing session, so bring the questions we couldn’t get to during the last class.

Part 2: Positioning Yourself on Upwork

Before you create an offer, you need to know what you want to be known and hired for.

We’ll look at:

  • How to stop presenting yourself as someone who can “do everything”

  • How to decide what you want to be hired for

  • How your skills, experience and the problems you solve come together

  • How to make it easier for a client to understand where you fit

  • How your positioning should show up across your Upwork profile

  • Why good positioning can make your proposals easier to write

You don’t necessarily need to completely change what you do. Sometimes, you just need to become clearer about how you present it.

Part 3: Creating Your Offer

Once your positioning is clear, we’ll use it to work on your offer.

We’ll look at:

  • What an offer actually is

  • The difference between listing your skills and offering a solution

  • How to connect what you do to a problem clients are willing to pay to solve

  • How to make your offer specific enough for clients to understand

  • How to package your skills and experience into something easier to sell

  • How your offer connects back to the jobs you apply for and the proposals you write

By the end, I want you to understand the full picture:

  • How do I position myself?

  • What am I actually offering?

  • Who does it make sense for?

  • Which jobs should I apply for?

  • What does that particular client care about?

  • And how do I write a proposal that connects what I offer to what they need?

Because writing proposals becomes much easier when you already know who you are trying to serve, what you can help them with, and why they should consider you.

DON'T MISS THESE CLASSES!!! We’re learning how to actually think through Upwork and build a strategy you can use yourself.
