​Thank you for Volunteering to support our Hays County Hand Count - Precinct Level Voting preparation. We are not able to move forward to the Primary Hand Count for a few reasons, to include:

​>Time - With additional time we could reach our goal.

​>Regulations - We have learned that work is needed at the Legislative Level to ensure we are legally supported for success.

​>Support - The Hays County Election Office makes it very clear that they have one contract and one process they use.  Any deviation will not be supported.  The Election Office wants Countywide Voting with Machines. 

​>Lack of Data - The Election Office will not be able to supply the Registered Voter data for New Precincts until mid to late January.  This information is needed sooner to combine Precincts for Polling Locations.

​Going out into the community, doing Presentations and Hand Count Demonstrations was re-affirming of the incredible community we have.  Being supported and encouraged by you was truly moving and we want you all to know how appreciated you are.  

This is not the end of our quest for Hand Counting-Precinct Level Hays Elections, we are simply pivoting as we have a deeper understanding and know what needs to be done.  We must be wildly successful when we do a Primary Hand Count.
