)  is an independent, curated side event running alongside Wikimania 2026 in Paris. It brings together Wikimedians and the Wikimedia-adjacent ecosystem to move from discussion to concrete collaboration on building tools with AI to advance free knowledge (including protecting it from slop!)

The Fringe unconference will run between July 22–24,  next door to Wikimania. The program will be a mix of structured working sessions and unstructured unconference time. We will have outputs from the unconference on display on the 25th for visitors to explore and play with.

We have a beautiful maker space, suitable for curated groups, concrete sessions, distributed facilitation, and wall projection for art or demos. Come spend time with artists, game designers, photographers, educators, symbients, and agent trainers.
