What You'll Learn
As you learned in our first Musical Theatre course, Musical Theatre encompasses a century of musical genres and vocal styles from all over the world. In this course, we will dive deep into the vocal styles one must master to excel in Musical Theatre: Belt, Legit (classical), and Pop/Rock. These live classes will be highly interactive, giving attendees the chance to sing a wide variety of musical theatre styles. By taking this course, you'll improve your own singing skills! You'll leave with a better understanding of theatre music and the ability to demonstrate appropriate vocal styles to benefit your students. Musical Theatre 200 is a live course consisting of three sessions. We'll cover vocal styles, such as Belt, Legit (classical), and Pop/Rock that one must master to excel in Musical Theatre. This course is designed to help you improve your own singing skills while giving you a better understanding of theatre music. You can demonstrate appropriate vocal styles for the benefit of your students after completing this course.

About Chelsea
Chelsea Wilson is a voice teacher and coach specializing in musical theatre performance. She’s a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Musical Theatre BFA program and uses her expertise to support her students all over the world, from Broadway stars to amateur singers.
She’s currently the associate vocal coach for MASQUERADE, the new immersive Phantom production in New York City. In 2017 she began working as the associate vocal coach on the Broadway production of SCHOOL OF ROCK and later THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.
In 2021 she co-founded Broadway Vocal Coach, an online training platform and podcast for professional and aspiring musical theatre performers who want to take the next step in their careers.
Chelsea began her voice teacher education journey in 2007 and now has the pleasure of training other voice teachers as part of the education team for the Institute for Vocal Advancement.
She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband and two daughters. Most days you can find her sipping a Diet Coke and being told "not to sing along!" to the Disney tunes on constant repeat at her house.
