When Currency Moves, Does Your Margin Move With It?
This masterclass is designed for CFOs, finance leaders and business owners at small and mid-sized companies with recurring foreign-currency revenues, expenses or purchases who want greater visibility and discipline around their FX exposure.
Currency movements can affect margins, cash flow and financial results, sometimes before the full impact is clearly understood. In this introductory session, participants will learn how foreign-exchange exposure can arise within a business, what to consider when reviewing that exposure, and how companies commonly approach currency risk management.
The session will also introduce some of the tools and practices used in the market, while recognizing that the appropriate approach will depend on each company’s operations, financial objectives and risk tolerance.
Founded in Canada in 2014, FINMETRIX operates under a specialized and independent advisory model, working alongside management and finance teams without replacing their banks or FX brokers. Acting as an extension of the team, FINMETRIX brings deep market knowledge, global best practices and disciplined oversight to help businesses make decisions that reflect their operations, financial objectives and risk tolerance.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of where currency risk may exist in their business, the questions they should be asking, and what a more structured approach to FX risk management can look like.
This session is part of the Global Startups 10th Anniversary Masterclass Series. As part of its week-long celebration, Global Startups has invited selected members of its community to share their expertise with a live audience. FINMETRIX is pleased to contribute to the series and connect directly with finance leaders and business owners navigating currency risk.
