The Greater London Summit
You are invited to the first Greater London Summit on Saturday 30th May at a central London location (a short walk from Charing Cross and Temple stations). RSVP to secure a place - capacity is limited and attendance will be confirmed through Luma.
London is the greatest city in the world. You could go to a different gallery, play, concert, restaurant or park every day for the rest of your life and never get bored. It is home to some of the most exciting companies on the planet, sitting right alongside some of the oldest and most august institutions of history. Every year, people from across the globe come to London to make it their home, and every day it is the home of new businesses, art, ideas and scientific breakthroughs.
It has its challenges. We don’t build nearly enough homes, and many of the ones we do are completely inadequate or just plain ugly. Too much of our infrastructure is crumbling, and many projects are stuck in limbo for decades waiting to be built. Pollution is a huge problem, and some underground lines are unbearably hot for much of the year. Graffiti, phone snatching, and shoplifting are all visible signs of disorder.
But the city’s fundamentals are world-class: talent, capital, public goods and deep social networks. Most of the problems are with rules, governance and norms, and small tweaks can make a big difference.
We founded the Greater London Project in 2024 because we think London isn’t just great: it can be even greater. Through building a community of people who want to make the city a better place for Londoners, and are unashamedly pro-growth, pro-building, and want London to be bigger, richer and even more dynamic. We are Greater Londoners, and we think you are too.
After two years of holding community events and publishing ideas we are putting on the first Greater London Summit to bring together Londoners to meet eachother, exchange ideas, build networks and talk about the city’s future - and how to make it even greater.
