Prospective Member Open House

​In 1872, four Black Houstonians pooled their resources to buy land so their community would have a permanent place to celebrate Juneteenth. That land is Emancipation Park. The Bayou Collective Giving Circle carries that practice forward. We pool our money and decide together which Black-led organizations in the greater Houston region to fund.

​In our first Giving Season, we reviewed 101 applications and awarded $25,000 in unrestricted grants to five Black-led nonprofits.

​Membership for our second Giving Season opens this fall. Join us to learn how the Circle works, hear from some of our members and inaugural grantees, and find out how to become a member.

​You don't need to call yourself a philanthropist to join us. You just need to be committed to investing in Black-led organizations so they have resources needed to meet their missions.
