About This Session

Your relationship with money started long before you earned your first dollar.

It started in the way your family talked — or did not talk — about finances. In the survival strategies that were modelled for you. In the shame, the scarcity, the silence, and sometimes the creativity and community that shaped how money moved through the people who raised you.

And it lives in your body right now.

In this session, somatic therapist and Trauma of Money Certified™ practitioner Candice Frederick guides participants through the deeply personal, often unexamined terrain of inherited money stories. Drawing from her own experience watching her family participate in the susu and her clinical work supporting people in building intentional relationships with money, Candice creates a space where the financial and the somatic are finally held in the same conversation.

This is not a budgeting workshop. It is a healing one.

What You Will Experience

  • Guided exploration of your nervous system’s response to money — how it shows up as freeze, avoidance, over-functioning, or shutdown

  • Tools for identifying and naming your ancestral money scripts and where they came from

  • Somatic practices for beginning to shift your relationship with money at the body level

  • Reflective work around shame, avoidance, and the inherited beliefs that quietly shape your financial life

  • An introduction to building a money legacy rooted in receiving, not just surviving

About Candice

Candice is a somatic therapist, Trauma of Money Certified™ practitioner, and founder of Liberated Care Therapy and Consulting. Her practice is rooted in the belief that liberation is an embodied experience — one that requires unlearning systemic urgency and reclaiming our internal rhythm. She specializes in unpacking inherited money stories and supporting people in building money legacies grounded in wholeness.

This session is part of the Wellth Mindset Program — an 8 to 12 month virtual sanctuary for Black, POC women and all women ready to do this work at the intersection of wellness and wealth. Registration for the full program is available at OnePeopleTO.ca
