About Event

A hands-on workshop for women navigating the job search

Lots of applications. Very few interviews. It’s rarely about how hard you’re working. It’s where that effort goes, and how you talk about what you’ve already done.

Join Shubhra Bedi (The Career Room) and Kashaf Salaheen (Ctrl+She) to fix both.

🎯 Part 1: Where your effort should go
A short talk on the 80/20 of job searching: what actually leads to interviews, and what only feels productive. Then you’ll audit your own week, sorting it into “moved the needle” and “felt productive but didn’t.”

🎤 Part 2: Resume vs. Reality
A short talk on why so many of us undersell our own work, and how to spot impact we don’t recognise as impact. Then, in breakout rooms, you’ll interview a partner about a recent win and pick out the strongest thing she said. Then you’ll hear yours.

You’ll leave with
✅ A clear view of where your job search time is really going
✅ One or two changes you can make this week
✅ A more confident way to talk about your work
✅ A few new connections

Who it’s for
Women at any stage of the job search: recent grads, career changers, newcomers to Canada, and anyone returning to work after a break.

Come prepared
Have a rough idea of how you spent your job search time last week, and one recent win you’re proud of, big or small. Be ready to join a breakout room with your camera on if you’re comfortable.
