Building Your Career in Impact Investing - Webinar 1: Roles, Pathways, and Where You Might Fit
This webinar is designed to give students, early-career professionals, and career-switchers a clear picture of how the field works. The session will cover what jobs actually exist across investing and how these roles differ by fund size, stage, asset class, and strategy, and how to start figuring out where you might fit based on your background and interests.
A panel of practitioners from ICM member funds will share how they entered the field, what their work actually looks like, and what they wish they had known earlier. We'll close with concrete next steps and resources for wherever you're starting from.
Featured speakers:
Carolyn Farley — Partner, Arborview Capital
Jacob Clark — Head of Impact, JPMorgan Chase Impact Finance
Joy Ippolito — Social Investments Managing Director, American Family Insurance Institute for Corporate and Social Impact
Adrienne Henderson — Investment Officer, Quona Capital
This is the first session in a two-part webinar series on building a career in impact investing, hosted by Impact Capital Managers (ICM). You're welcome to attend one or both — neither session is a prerequisite for the other. The second session, Building Your Career in Impact Investing - Webinar 2: Breaking In and Standing Out, will take place from at 12 PM ET on Friday, September 18.
ICM is a membership network of ~150 private capital impact investing funds focused on strengthening the field, and is home to the Mosaic Fellowship, a co-producer of Turner MIINT, and the publisher of Impact Insider, a monthly publication covering jobs, events, and news across the impact investing ecosystem.
