Leadership is a Creative Act

​Leadership is a creative act. Not in the sense that creativity is a useful leadership skill to develop (it is that too), but that the very act of leading is about bringing something into being when the path isn't clearly laid out. 

​This is different from strategy. It requires really understanding your context. Listening more deeply. Noticing what others walk past. Composing forms worth testing. Holding uncertainty longer than you're comfortable with. And discovering the shared vision that emerges on the other side of it all.
