Fireside Chats with Tandem - Reimagining Success: Beyond Competition, Toward Care
It happens quietly. One moment, we’re rooted in our own work; the next, we’re caught in comparison. The firm that scales effortlessly. The consultancy that markets “best practices” as universal truths. The brand that makes endless growth look glossy on LinkedIn.
But beneath these stories often lies a deeper influence: the logic of supremacy and capitalism. These systems normalize extraction, endless competition, and a narrow version of success that leaves little room for care, equity, or wellbeing. We’re told to follow blueprints designed for profit and dominance - without asking who they were built for, and at whose expense.
In this Fireside Chat, Tandem Co-CEOs Renée Mitchell and Tania Lo sit down with Moh Al-Haifi, Founder & Regenerative Growth Director of Zebra Growth, to explore the cultural and systemic forces behind business comparison. Together, we’ll name how supremacy and capitalism fuel the pressure to “keep up,” and imagine what it looks like to lead outside their playbook.
Together, we’ll reflect on:
How supremacy and capitalism shape our definitions of success
The hidden costs of measuring ourselves against harmful business models
Ways to recognize when we’ve strayed from our own values and path
Practices for cultivating steadiness, equity, and regeneration in how we grow
These monthly Fireside Chats are a space to pause, unlearn, and look beneath the surface of leadership. They’re less about chasing “best practices” and more about reclaiming wisdom, care, and possibility for the communities we serve.
Join us for a candid conversation, where we’ll set aside the pressure to keep up - and explore what’s possible when we choose a path that resists supremacy and reimagines success.
Who It’s For:
Founders, leaders, and purpose-driven professionals asking deeper questions about what growth, success, and wellbeing really mean - and how to pursue them on different terms.
What You’ll Take With You:
A more honest lens on how systemic forces shape our choices in business
Stories that surface nuance and complexity often left out of “success” narratives
Practical ways to re-align your leadership with equity and care
Connection with a community committed to building beyond the dominant model

Meet Our Guest Speaker, Moh Al-Haifi:
Born to Yemeni roots, raised in Germany, Studied in Scotland, currently residing in Portugal. Moh has spent much of his life navigating the tension between ancestral belonging and institutional disillusionment. Over time, he's lost trust in the German state, the EU, and many global powers that he used to think were once examples for human rights… As their extractive, imperial systems continue to shape how we live, grow, and relate.
His work has moved from sustainability to ethics to regenerative practice. Moh is now in the shift toward something deeper: a decolonial and regenerative approach to business, marketing, and growth. He co-steward's Zebra Growth, a think & do tank made up of immersive learning experiences and a hands-on strategic growth studio. Zebra Growth works with deeply values-led teams to build regenerative and decolonial marketing and growth ecosystems.
He also runs projects & ventures with the aim to address society’s pressing cracks and reimagine business growth as a force for environmental & societal justice.
