What happens when a professional football career comes to an end?
Erika Nordfors, born Hamrin, grew up in Italy as the daughter of Kurt Hamrin, the Swedish legend who played for many of Italy’s top clubs. She watched up close how her father thought long and hard about what “real” working life would look like once his playing days were over.
In this talk, Erika looks back at how it was 50 years ago and compares it with how players and their families approach the same question today.
Is it only money that drives these choices, or do personality, upbringing, and culture play a part too?
Drawing on her personal experience and her professional career in the Italian food industry in Sweden, Erika will reflect on what a career transition really takes, a topic that goes well beyond sport and speaks to anyone who has had to reinvent themselves.
