Earth Night Saint Petersburg 2026 — Mission Blue Film Screening + Ocean Conservation & Upcycled Fashion Talk
In celebration of Earth Day, an amalgamation of artists, musicians, and creatives are coming together to put the Sunshine City on the map (literally!) as part of the worldwide DJs for Climate Action's "Earth Night” initiative with a full week of programming. Suite E Studios, Sunshine City Disco, and Galactic Sound & Magic present community workshops, film, talks, and music experiences to uplift, inspire, and engage our beautiful city.
Earth Night week kicks off properly with “Movie Night." Presented in collaboration with the Dunedin International Film Festival, opening night features a screening of the documentary Mission Blue accompanied by talks with Florida Gulfcoast Hope Spot's Ray Bouchard and Marissa Baker of local upcycled and vintage staple Reclaim Threads.
“Movie Night” is a free event, but donations, which will go towards DJs For Climate Action’s Earth Night and other environmental organizations, are encouraged. Bundle passes are also offered for access to the full week of programming.

Marissa Baker, founder of Reclaim Threads, is a sustainable fashion designer transforming discarded clothing into one-of-a-kind wearable art. Rooted in festival culture and conscious living, her work challenges the fast fashion cycle by giving new life to secondhand pieces while redefining what style can look like.
In this talk, Marissa explores the real environmental cost of our consumption habits, from overflowing closets to polluted waterways, and invites the audience to rethink their relationship with clothing and everyday purchases. Through personal insight, industry realities, and tangible solutions, she shares how individual choices hold more power than we’ve been led to believe.
Blending storytelling, sustainability, and visual design, this experience goes beyond conversation featuring live examples of her upcycled creations and practical tools for reducing your own footprint. This is not just a talk about fashion; it’s a call to live more intentionally in a world that depends on it.
