About Event

A pickling workshop — come learn about fermentation, and try your hand at pickling carrots.

Bring your own knife! Please register in advance so we can purchase the right amount of ingredients!

In this hands-on 90 minute workshop, you will learn the basics of lactofermentation, and get a chance to make your own jar of pickled carrots. The ticket price covers the cost of ingredients and materials, but you do need to bring your own sharp knife (we can provide cutting boards).

We'll discuss common lactofermentation pitfalls, useful tricks, and secret rituals for success. This workshop is a great way to get started on your fermentation journey, or just learn a tasty new recipe!

About the instructor: Taylor is a lifelong enjoyer of pickled vegetables. A firm believer in the scientific method, they have been honing their fermentation craft for the last 7 years, experimenting with different recipes, procedures, methods and instruments.

Accessibility — Please note that the event space is up a flight of stairs, and a bathroom is located upstairs.  Masks are welcome but not required. Participants are asked to refrain from wearing strong fragrances.
