Business Lab: Get investor-Ready - becoming attractive to early-stage capital

​Have you considered how your research might be supported or developed beyond traditional research funding? Understanding how different forms of funding relate to early-stage ideas can help you make more informed decisions about potential next steps.

​This lunch seminar is aimed at researchers who want to gain an overview of the early-stage funding landscape and how it connects to research-driven ideas. The session does not assume that you are seeking investment but rather introduces perspectives that can be useful when considering different pathways for use, application, or collaboration.

​You will be introduced to different types of funding, including public funding, grants, and private capital, and how these relate to the stage and direction of a project. The seminar will also address how ideas are typically assessed by external stakeholders, and what kinds of considerations may become relevant if research is developed further in a non-academic context. Particular emphasis will be placed on understanding funding as one of several possible ways of supporting the development and use of research, rather than as a starting point.
