Ask Lala

​Ask Lala is a live, intimate session with acclaimed filmmaker, producer, and casting director Kemi Lala Akindoju, designed to give emerging and established creatives unprecedented access to one of Africa's most respected voices in film.

​For more than two decades, Lala has built one of the most remarkable careers in African film, as an actor, producer, and one of the continent's leading casting directors. Her work spans acclaimed productions including The Black Book, Gangs of Lagos, Sundance-winning Lizard, NAACP Award-winning Eyimofe, Disney's Iwájú, and the BAFTA-winning My Father's Shadow.

​Unlike a workshop or masterclass, Ask Lala is built around honest conversation. It creates a rare opportunity for actors, filmmakers, producers, writers, and creative entrepreneurs to ask the questions they rarely get to ask: from navigating auditions and building sustainable careers to storytelling, producing, leadership, and the realities of working in Africa's evolving film industry.
