About Event

Purpose and Goals: The group is designed to meet the needs of those who struggle with executive functioning and task paralysis.

You will meet VIRTAULLY on June 14th & June 28th from 11am-1pm

Cost is $100 for the two sessions.

How Sessions Work: Sessions will start with a brief introduction and stated intention (focused task). Then, the cameras will be muted while everyone works on their task. When a group member hits a roadblock, they can either (1) text or call the clinician directly to be helped through the stuck point or (2) ask for support in the video chat. The group will end with a celebration of progress.

People most commonly use body doubling to get started on tedious, overwhelming, or mundane activities. Common tasks include:

  • Housework & Chores: Folding laundry, doing dishes, or deep-cleaning the kitchen.

  • Admin & Finances: Paying bills, replying to emails, or filing taxes.

  • Work & Creative Projects: Writing essays, coding, or brainstorming.

  • Studying & Reading: Working through academic materials or reviewing notes.

Group Rules:

1) This is not a process group. This means that (1) you can make friends with group members outside of group if they consent

2) We are not using group time to process emotions in a lengthy manner

3) Cameras need to stay on but they can be focused on the area in which you are working rather than on a group member directly

4) Mics stay muted unless we are in the initial intention phase or the final celebration phase of the day

5) Do not offer advice without being directly asked for it

6) We will not be comparing our progress or goals to the progress or goals of others in the group. All efforts are valid

7) We will not be judgmental in any way of each other’s spaces, as shown in the video, or the task with which they struggle.

Therapist’s Role: Will be there to model task-oriented behaviors of my own, answer calls and texts to support group members work through stuck points, moderate and facilitate the group
