About Event

Join us upstairs at The Celtic Club Atrium, for a special Halloween cooking demonstration of Barmbrack, the traditional Irish fruit loaf that’s at the heart of Irish Halloween.

Barmbrack (from the Irish Bairín breac, meaning “speckled bread”) has long been more than just a sweet treat — it was once used to tell fortunes. Items baked into the loaf foretold the year ahead: a pea for poverty, a ring for marriage, a coin for riches. While the tradition of hidden charms has faded, the loaf remains a delicious symbol of Irish Halloween.

From homemade recipes to commercial bracks, every slice carries a piece of Irish heritage — and at Halloween, no Irish home would be without one on the table.

Come along, learn the story, and see how this festive loaf is made in time for Halloween! 🎃🍞
