SHIBARI: Tension & Trust
A subtle, grounding magic lies in learning how to hold and be held. This is an introductory learning session on bonding with rope, offering an antidote to daily noise—a welcoming, creative third space to explore connection, vulnerability, and the language of rope, whether you join us solo or with a partner.
Together, we’ll move through the essential foundations, guiding you through the delicate balance between technical precision and pure feeling: mastering the single column, exploring the intricate dynamics of Futo-Momo through friction and structure, and discovering how to wrap and anchor rope on your own body. Beyond the technique, we will navigate safety, bodily presence, and the thoughtful dialogue of consent, opening up new ways to bring these ties into your own world.
Good to know
Bring an 8–10 meter rope (5–6 mm, ideally natural jute or hemp), or add one to your ticket when you book.
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothes—like what you’d wear for yoga—so you can move freely.
Leave the notebooks behind; everything you need to remember will arrive in your inbox after class.
This session thoughtfully touches on themes of power exchange, somatic awareness, and rope practices in a safe, respectful environment.
