The Leadership Skills Audit
What do you focus on to become a better leader? What’s actually going to move the needle in terms of your effectiveness and promoteability? If you’ve been getting nothing but cryptic feedback from your boss and want to take control of your own leadership development, then we’ve got exactly what you need!
This month we're doing live, in-person group coaching to help you assess, identify, and solve your biggest leadership skills gaps!
We've got four executive and leadership coaches on deck, all of whom have worked and led teams in male-dominated industries. We'll do a mix of group coaching, self-reflection, and facilitated discussion so you’ll walk away with a clear picture of your skills -- plus some new ways to show up more effectively.
We’ll cover:
The 8 Essential Leadership Competencies you need to succeed as a leader
A self-audit of your leadership skills so you can identify your strongest & weakest areas
Expert coaching on your two biggest development opportunities
The goal of this workshop is to give you insight into your leadership capabilities and clarity on what to focus on next to develop into a more powerful, effective leader.
This workshop is co-facilitated by Holly Burton, Barkha Ramnauth, Teresa Duke, and Sophia Kokileff
Holly is an executive coach for women in male-dominated industries. She works one-on-one with ambitious women to help them lead, get promoted, and create the careers they actually want in industries they love.
As a mining engineer for the first ten years of her career, Holly was exposed to one of the most male-dominated spaces -- just 17% female. She uses the unique perspective she gained as a woman in mining, alongside her obsessive nerdiness for all things feminism, leadership, and career to help women create the working world they deserve while they wait for the rest of society to catch up.
Teresa Duke
Teresa is an executive coach who works with leaders at some of the most innovative companies in tech and entertainment, including Netflix, Meta, and Amazon. She gets a front-row seat to the real stories of executive life: what works, what doesn't, and how to find your way to more clarity, confidence, and joy.
Before coaching, she spent over a decade leading talent acquisition and talent management in the fast-paced worlds of tech and video games, at organizations of every size, from scrappy start-ups to global giants like Blizzard, EA, and Vivendi. What she loves most is helping leaders show up as their whole selves and build careers (and lives!) they really love.
Barkha Ramnauth
Barkha is an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a UBC-certified Organizational Coach, with 9+ years leading customer-facing teams in B2B SaaS alongside her coaching practice. She has designed and led a formal internal coaching program at her previous employment, and has facilitated group sessions on change management and team values alignment for organizations navigating acquisitions and restructuring.
Barkha believes the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it rarely closes on its own, it closes with the right combination of self-awareness and structure. As a leader who has personally guided her own team through challenges, she brings a practitioner's understanding of what it actually takes to lead, and be led, through change.
Sophia Kokileff is an ICF-certified Career, Leadership & Life Coach, a CPA, and educator. After a decade spanning Big 4 public accounting, corporate finance in fintech, and higher education, she made her own career pivot into coaching. Today she works with corporate professionals, leaders and founders who are quietly asking what’s next. She helps them build clarity, confidence, and balance through career transitions, leadership growth, and organizational change.
She also partners with organizations through team coaching and workshops that help teams better collaborate around a shared “why”.
Having coached 100+ professionals through moments of career crossroads, Sophia brings both the practical, numbers-minded lens of a CPA and the curiosity of a coach to every conversation. She knows the pull between the stability people have built and the fulfillment they’re craving, because she’s lived it, and her work helps clients honour both as they build careers and lives that feel sustainable.

Attendance Notes
1) Gender:
This event is open to individuals of any gender identity.
2) Children:
WIMDI events are for parents too! We know childcare can occasionally be a challenge, but we don't think that should stop you from connecting and learning with us. WIMDI doesn't offer childcare at our events, but we'd love you to bring your little one along with some quiet activities to occupy them. Suitable for ages 0+
Video & Photography
1) Video:
This event is not being recorded.
2) Photography:
This WIMDI event will be photographed. By attending you consent to the terms laid out at wimdi.com/photography-release. We understand that some of our members may not be comfortable having their photo taken, and we don’t want this to stop anyone from attending. Event Space Info
1) Parking:
The closest public parking is at the Klue building (777 Hornby St), or in the CF Pacific Centre (737 Howe St)
2) Transit:
The nearest mass transit hub is two blocks away at Granville Station with access to the Expo Line, or Vancouver City Centre Station with access to the Canada Line. Additional info about planning your trip via transit can be found in the Translink Trip Planner.
3) Venue & Entrance Accessibility:
The event space is accessible for folks who use wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
Once inside the building, you will need to take two elevators to get to the event space. The volunteer in the lobby will buzz you up to the 16th floor.
6) Changing Tables:
Unfortunately, the event space does not have a changing table.
7) Breastfeeding, Chestfeeding & Pumping:
Unfortunately, this venue does not have a private place for feeding or pumping. There is also only a single one-room washroom, so using the washroom for private feeding would prevent other attendees from using the washroom.
If you are comfortable feeding or pumping around others, you are welcome to feed or pump in the main event area with the other attendees. We ask that you do your best to keep noises from your child or pump to a reasonable minimum during the presentation so they don't interfere with others' hearing the speaker.
We encourage you to feed or pump with or without a cover, whatever works best for you. Please note that we are filming this event but our volunteers are happy to help you find a comfortable spot out of our cameras' view.
8) Covid & Other Health Precautions:
This in-person event is being held indoors. There is an outdoor patio space attached to the event space that may be used for the networking portion of the event, if the weather permits.
Most WIMDI attendees do not wear masks. However, if you want or need to wear a mask to make attending this event safe(r) for you, please do! If you'd like a mask buddy, WIMDI’s founder Holly is committed to wearing a mask with any WIMDI member who wants to so you have an automatic friend and ally (although she will take it off when she is speaking "on stage" so everyone can hear her clearly).
9) Calm/Sensory-Friendly Space:
WIMDIs events are large and well-attended, and as a result they can sometimes feel crowded or noisy for some folks. Unfortunately, this venue does not have a specific area for folks who need a sensory break or low-stim environment.
Please feel free to adjust your participation to help the event work for you. For example, you might consider watching the event online, or attending only the presentation portion of the evening and skipping the networking before and after the event.
Code of Conduct & Community Norms
1) Code of Conduct:
By attending this event, you agree to adhere to WIMDI's code of conduct, which you can find at wimdi.com/code-of-conduct-and-policy.
2) No Selling, Pitching, or Finding Your Next Client:
Our events are different than most traditional events. They're not focused on entrepreneurs, and aren't a place to pitch your business or service. Our first priority is making sure our community gets to connect with each other and it's no fun when everyone is trying to meet their next client.
3) Stims, Fidgets & Self-Regulation:
We encourage you to use any silent, low-key fidgets or stims that will help you feel comfortable, concentrate or self-regulate.
4) Dress Code
Our goal is to have you feel comfortable and not stress too much about your clothing. Show up wearing whatever is comfortable, as long as:
Your NSFW parts are covered!.
You will not soil the furniture or floors in the event space (eg: work coveralls covered in coal dust, muddy work boots, etc)
Nothing about your outfit will impede others' enjoyment of the event (eg: a giant hat that blocks the view of the presentation, excessive perfume, etc)
Most folks come to the event straight from work, so many WIMDIs are dressed in suits or business-casual wear. We also have many attendees dressed in casual clothing or athleisure. In terms of shoes, people usually wear dressy flats, high-heels, sneakers, or sandals.
5) Punctuality
At WIMDI, we have a no-judgement policy around punctuality. Folks sometimes need to show up late or leave early for all kinds of valid reasons. Please attend our events in whatever timeframe your work, life, parenting, mental health, or ADHD schedules require.
6) Donations to The PAFNW (Pacific Association of First Nations Women)
As part of this event we have the option of donation to the Pacific Association of First Nations Women for their program fund for Indigenous women and girls. This is a concrete way - beyond land acknowledgement - to redistribute some of our collective financial privilege to support Indigenous women.
