ALSO, in our attempt to create an environment rich with authenticity and connection, Soul Jam adheres to the following ecstatic dance floor principles.
Ecstatic Dance Floor Principles:
1. We Dance without Words (with Body Language)
We want to create a dance floor that is truly rich with presence and listening, so we ask that conversation is kept off the dance floor and that we practice communicating through body language, eyes, smiles, and our energy. Let’s try this out and see how rich the dance floor experience can be.
Let us also stay contained and respect one another’s personal space.
Note: we will have a lounge located behind the dance floor where connection through conversation can ensue.
2. We Dance as We Are
SOUL JAM is a substance-free and smoke-free event. We ask that cell phones are kept on silent, in your bag or in your car — just not on the dance floor. We ask that you refrain from any heavy and/or artificial scents like colognes and perfumes. We are increasingly sensitive people!
Come as you are, move with care, and leave your baggage and judgements at the door. Let us BE PRESENT and come open-minded and willing to connect and be as we are. Let’s respect one another, the beautiful park, the plants, animals, insects, and the rest of the environment around us. <3
3. (Soft Rule at Keystone Park)
Dancing without Shoes
We encourage people to connect barefoot with the ground. Socks are great and if you feel the need to have shoes, we just ask that you be mindful of the toes around.
(Being in the amphitheatre space, we are still finding our happy medium here.)
………………..
Live Thai massage bodywork will also be available in the grove.
Food and cold-pressed juice will be available to purchase in the pavilion, as well as a lounge area to sit and recharge.
…………………..
Items to bring yourself:
A water bottle (there will be a filtered water refill station available), and a yoga mat and/or blanket to stay cozy and to sit or hang in the garden.
We hope you find great connection in this experience.
Looking forward to jamming with you!
