What is Groundwire?
Groundwire is a new sovereign node suite built through a tight integration of Bitcoin and the Urbit operating system. Unlike sovereign computing stacks assembled from disparate Unix services, Groundwire provides a unified identity, networking, application, and distribution layer built around Bitcoin-based IDs. Each operator gets private communication, peer-to-peer software distribution, self-hosted AI, and, once complete, an independent Bitcoin full-node implementation. This integrated architecture is designed to make sovereign computing simple enough for widespread adoption without compromising the cypherpunk ethic of self-ownership.
