Prescribed Fire Ignitions for Ecological Outcomes
This Mt. Adams PBA training will introduce the basics of applying fire to the land, including drip torch use and ignition patterns. We'll also learn how different ignition patterns can be used to achieve ecological objectives on a prescribed burn.
Throughout the day, we'll connect how fuels, topography, weather conditions, and burn objectives inform ignition planning and implementation.
The training will begin with instruction and some applied activities. Then we will put our learning to use by implementing a small prescribed burn at our host's property.
WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, October 17th at 72 Oda Knight Road.
WHO: This training is intended for people who have burned, or are planning to burn with the Mt. Adams PBA. Prior experience with fire or prescribed fire is recommended, but not required. This training is designed to be accessible to our community!
