About Event

We know that Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) can sometimes feel siloed within specific departments or institutions. But whether you’re translating complex climate data, sharing healthcare breakthroughs, or bridging gaps in social policy, we are all doing the same work!

Why You Should Join Us

This is a space designed to spark connections and genuine collaboration. Hosted by the Waterloo and Wellington KMb Community and the UW KMb CoP, we are bringing together practitioners from across different institutions to build lasting professional relationships.

No matter your field or your "home" institution, if you’re passionate about making research matter, we want you in the room.

The Game Plan

We’ve kept the agenda tight and intentional so you can get the most out of your time:

  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM | Bagged Lunch Bring your favorite bagged lunch and settle in! We’ll provide light refreshments.

  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Facilitate Networking Forget awkward small talk. This 60-minute facilitated networking session is focused on learning from one another. We’ll be sharing wins, solving common hurdles, and discovering how our different fields can support each other's goals.

The Details

  • The Vibe: Relaxed, collaborative, and cross-pollinated.

  • The Goal: To leave with at least three new contacts and one fresh perspective on your own work.

  • Who’s Invited: Members or future members of the WWKMC or the UW KMb CoP.

Let’s break down the silos and start working together. We can’t wait to see you there!

A Little About Your Hosts

The Waterloo Wellington Knowledge Mobilization Community (WWKMC) is an informal, cross‑sector community of practice that connects knowledge mobilization professionals working across multiple sectors to share learning and strengthen impact.

The Waterloo Knowledge Mobilization Community of Practice is open to University of Waterloo staff, faculty members, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who are working as knowledge mobilizers or using KMb tactics to help support the uptake of research outside of academia. We support one another in enhancing job skills and facilitating career development, by providing a platform for learning and knowledge exchange, with the goal of enhancing Waterloo's institutional capacity to maximize impact of research.
