​The word community is often thrown around but what does community really look like? As founder of Platform Presents, I've spent seven years producing exhibitions and events across heritage-listed and unconventional venues in Naarm and Eora, and the throughline has always been the same: real community only exists when people are willing to give something up for it, whether that's time, ego or control.

​In this session I'll unpack what that looks like in practice, how Platform Presents builds events and creative programming around collective ownership rather than individual credit, and how Notion has become the backbone of that work. I'll also share how I recently stepped into The Sound Gallery, a community-driven electronic music platform, to rebuild their internal systems from the ground up on Notion, giving the whole team a shared dashboard for artist programming and operations.
