Rooted in Land: Plant Medicine with Florence Fang Community Farm
Join us for a grounding, educational afternoon at Florence Fang Community Farm in San Francisco! In partnership with Florence Fang Community Farm and guided by farm educator Faheem Carter, Hike Clerb will welcome 20–25 women from BIPOC backgrounds for an immersive session rooted in plant medicine, community farming, and hands-on land stewardship.
Participants will receive an introduction to the farm's history and mission, a guided plant medicine educational session focused on herb identification, traditional uses, and harvesting principles, and 1–2 hours of meaningful volunteer work across tiered tasks accessible to a range of ability levels — including harvesting, composting, and planting.
This event blends learning, community care, and service in a setting that reflects Hike Clerb's core values: getting women of color outside, connected to the land, and to one another.
This experience centers BIPOC health and well-being.

ABOUT HIKE CLERB
Hike Clerb is an LA-based intersectional women’s hike club and 501(c)(3) founded by Evelynn Escobar. Through guided experiences in nature Hike Clerb creates space for Black Indigenous and women of color to gather heal and reconnect outdoors.
ABOUT GUIDE DIARRA
Diarra is a reformed New Yorker and strategy consultant currently based in San Francisco. She grew up in New Jersey spending time in nature with her mom, a 4th grade science teacher who often brought her along on outdoor field trips with her students. After a decade in New York City, Diarra bought her first pair of hiking boots just a week before moving to California and hasn’t looked back since. That purchase was inspired by Hike Clerb, which makes the opportunity to serve as a city guide feel truly full circle <3
She's now a hiker, backpacker, runner, and an aspiring surfer and forager and is grateful to the members of her community that have inspired her to try new things and have taught her along the way.
