About Event

Run + run() is a 26hr hackathon, for runners.

Every hour, on the hour, we run a mile achieving full marathon distance in 26 hours. Between runs, you eat, hack, and/or sleep.

Come and have fun regardless of your level of intensity, set safe limits, take breaks as needed & cheer on your friends!

We had more signups than expected, and have upgraded our location to Founders Inc in Fort Mason.

The event is hosted out of Founders Inc in the Fort Mason Center, 2 Marina Blvd.
https://f.inc. You can find us on the second floor of Landmark Building B.

Here's a WhatsApp group for coordinating day-of with everyone: https://chat.whatsapp.com/LCgUF1Fg3qnFDYEChvOcb7

Agenda:
- show up before 10AM Saturday, Jan 7
- first mile starts at 10AM
- we run together every hour, on the hour.
- last mile would be at 11AM the next day.
- challenge winners voted on and announced after 11.

Challenges:
- best project: at least one member of your team must have finished the whole run
- the pickle club: eat a pickle before every mile

What To Bring:
- supplies for your hack. Internet and electrical outlets are provided.
- sleeping gear. You'll be sleeping on a floor if you choose to sleep so bring whatever you need to be comfortable doing that.
- supplies for your run. Remember, while it is only one mile at a time, it is a full marathon distance, partly at night. It will be cold. You'll need good running shoes, a jacket for nighttime running, ideally a piece of reflective or illuminated gear.
- a water bottle. We'll have water refill at the hackathon.
- cash or Venmo to pitch in for food, expect about $30 (we'll try to be cheap + healthy and keep a stocked table of fruit at all times). You can opt-out and manage your own food if you prefer.
- deodorant (for the love of god, bring deodorant)

Rules:
- Marathon runners will be given a punch card to track the completion of each mile.
- For safety reasons, between sunset and sunrise, we'll be doing a headcount after every mile to be sure everyone is accounted for. You can opt-out of this at your own risk. Please don't disappear into the night.
- It's on you to stay healthy. This is an objectively hard challenge (marathon distance w/ mostly sleepless night) and we won't have medical on-site. I'll probably have you sign a waiver.
