In Costa Rica, Pura Vida is a philosophy of slowing down, letting go, and trusting that life is good. This September, we're bringing that spirit to the heart of Manhattan.

Join Carlos "Tapado" Vargas—three-time Grammy-winning percussionist, traveling directly from Costa Rica—for a 75-minute immersive soundbath journey set against sweeping Manhattan skyline views from the Virgin Hotel Loft.

Tapado weaves ancestral rhythms and nature-inspired instruments into a living soundscape designed to help you reset: release what you're carrying, quiet the noise, and reconnect with your own rhythm—an invitation to simply be.

The Evening

Carlos "Tapado" Vargas has spent three decades studying rhythm across Costa Rica's forests, coasts, and villages—work that earned him three Grammy Awards. Sessions with him are rare in New York, and this one runs longer than a typical soundbath, giving the practice room to unfold slowly. It takes place at the Loft at Virgin Hotels, where floor-to-ceiling views of the Manhattan skyline become part of the backdrop as the sound settles into stillness.
