History of Ideas Seminar: Francis Bacon and the Crisis of the Palatinate

​Join us on October 8th for a lecture by Dr. Sam Zeitlin from University College of London to consider English philosopher and statesman Francis Bacon and his worldview during a time of European religious warfare.

​The History of Ideas Seminar is a bi-weekly research seminar that brings leading scholars to campus to The University of Texas at Austin to present works in progress and engage in rigorous intellectual exchange. Designed as a multidisciplinary forum, this seminar convenes faculty, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students from across the humanities to discuss frontline research in intellectual history and the history of ideas.
