​The Climate Liabilities and Assets Initiative (CLAI), the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, and WBCSD are co-hosting an intimate, invite-only panel conversation on one of the most consequential relationships in corporate sustainability: the one between the Chief Sustainability Officer and the Chief Financial Officer.

​When CSOs speak the language of financial decision-making and can demonstrate how climate-related risks and opportunities connect to the company's bottom line, they unlock a fundamentally different level of organizational buy-in. This conversation will surface what that looks like in practice: how leading companies are bridging the sustainability-finance gap, what it takes to get CFOs engaged, and what becomes possible when they are.

​The event will bring together approximately 40 senior leaders for a candid, off-the-record discussion under Chatham House Rules. Attendees will hear from Paul Munter, former Chief Accountant at the SEC, Elyse Douglas, former CFO of Hertz Global Holdings and Senior Research Scholar at NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, and David Barahona, Senior Director for Sustainable Investing at Pepsi Co., in an interactive program with leaders in sustainability and finance from global companies.
