More Than a Book Club: First Chapters Only

​This month's genre? Black surrealism. Bring any book with Black/African themes that stretches reality a bit.

​First Chapters Only is a book club series where each book is voluntarily pitched to and by readers based solely on the first chapter. Come ready to sell your book and build community with other readers alike.

​Flow of the evening:

• ​6:00 - 6:30: Arrival, get settled, make a new friend

• ​6:30 - 7:00: Reading your book of choice

• ​7:00 - 7:30: Pitching and voting on a book

• ​7:30 - 8:00: Open discussions and mingling

​Donations of $20+ get you a complimentary glass of wine and entered into a raffle to win a copy of Sky Full of Elephants by Cebo Campbell.

​One of the goals of More Than Media is always to remain accessible to anyone looking to join our literary community. More Than a Book Club will always be free, but we are offering "pay what you can" for those who are able. Every donation is reinvested back into the events to give readers a quality experience every time.
