About Event

Creative Thursdays at Fang

An invitation to gather.

Every Thursday evening, we open the doors to a small group of curious, kind, and creative people for dinner at Fang.

This is an invitation-only community table, a space to slow down, share a meal, make something with your hands, meet new people, or simply enjoy being in a room where nothing is expected of you except to arrive as you are.

Each week, we prepare a seasonal dinner inspired by the flavours and stories of different cultures, served family-style around one long table.

There will always be a Creative Corner with simple materials, prompts, and space to play. Draw, write, sculpt, collage, stitch, or simply watch. There are no outcomes, only the joy of making.

Fang is a volunteer-run community space built around the belief that creativity, food, and conversation bring people closer together. We hope this becomes a place you return to week after week.

Dominican–Haitian Night

For this special dinner, Salma is bringing together the flavours of her Dominican and Haitian heritage.

With a Haitian grandfather and her mum’s family from the Dominican Republic, Salma grew up with a rich mix of both cultures. Although the Dominican Republic and Haiti share the island of Hispaniola, they have distinct histories, traditions and identities, with the island often marked by division.

Through this dinner, Salma wants to bring both cultures together around one table, celebrating the beautiful ingredients, flavours and traditions they share, alongside the things that make each cuisine unique.

Expect a generous, vibrant dinner inspired by the food and flavours of Salma’s home and heritage.

Welcome drink included.

BYOB if you'd like to bring your favourite beer, wine, or something special to share.
