Relating Room #6: Embracing Uncertainty

An evening of honest presence and relational exploration.

Uncertainty is a constant companion – in our decisions, our relationships, and our sense of who we are becoming. We long for ground beneath our feet, for things to go as planned, for some reassurance that it will all work out. And yet: life consistently refuses to cooperate.

This edition of the Relating Room invites an honest and embodied exploration of uncertainty – not as something to be resolved or outrun, but as an inherent feature of being alive. Together, we'll look at the ways our nervous systems react to the unknown, how we attempt to control outcomes in order to feel safe, and what becomes possible when we begin to make friends with what we cannot predict.

We'll explore the edge between contraction and openness – the moment where queasiness, tightening, or dread can become a wakeup bell rather than a stop sign. And we'll practice, together, what it means to stay in freefall without immediately grabbing for something to hold.

This is not a space to arrive at answers or to perform equanimity. It's an invitation to sit with the discomfort honestly – and to discover that others are sitting with it too.

Rooted in Authentic Relating practices, the evening will include reflections, embodied awareness, and relational exercises to meet whatever uncertainty is alive in you right now.

This space may be supportive for you if:
– uncertainty tends to spike your anxiety or send you into overdrive
– you're curious about your own patterns around control and the unknown
– you'd like to explore what a more easeful relationship to not-knowing might feel like

This is a non-therapeutic group experience and not a substitute for therapy.
