An evening of rugby on the sands of Ipanema, led by a legend of the game. Rio Rugby invites you to learn, play, or simply come along and watch, alongside Gareth Thomas CBE.
About Gareth
Captain of the British & Irish Lions, 100-time cap for Wales, and one of the most revered names in the history of world rugby. Off the pitch, he has become one of the most respected voices in the world in the fight against HIV stigma, leading Tackle HIV. His story of resilience has inspired people far beyond sport.
How it works
Two sessions on the sand, open to all levels. Never played rugby before? All the better: there's no finer way to start than learning from one of the greatest to ever play the game. And if you'd rather not train, you're very welcome to come along, watch, and get to know the sport.
🕕 6pm – 7pm — Children & Teenagers (with light snacks and drinks)
🕖 7pm – 8pm — Adults (men's and women's), followed by touch rugby on the beach and a drink at Quiosque Pôr do Sol

Fora dos gramados, tornou-se uma das vozes mais respeitadas do mundo na luta contra o estigma do HIV, liderando a Tackle HIV. Sua história de resiliência inspirou pessoas muito além do esporte.
Como funciona
Serão duas sessões na areia, abertas a todos os níveis. Nunca jogou rugby? Sem problema: não tem oportunidade melhor de começar do que aprendendo com um dos maiores de todos os tempos. E quem não quiser treinar também é bem-vindo para assistir e conhecer o esporte.
🕕 18h às 19h — Crianças e adolescentes (com light snacks e bebidas)
🕖 19h às 20h — Adultos (categorias masculina e feminina), seguido de touch rugby na praia e um brinde no Quiosque Pôr do Sol
