About Event

Some companies put "purpose" on their website. A few actually mean it. This session helps you tell the difference and use that knowledge to make smarter career decisions.

You've probably noticed that every company claims to care. About their people, the planet, and doing things differently. It's on the homepage, in the job ad, sometimes even in the interview. But how much of it is real?

B Corp certification is one of the most credible answers to that question. It's not a badge companies buy or a box they tick once. It's a rigorous, verified standard that measures how a business treats its employees, its suppliers, its community, and the environment. Getting certified takes real effort. Maintaining it takes more.

But this session isn't really about B Corp. It's about you.

Because when you're starting out in your career, you're told to think about salary, job title, and progression. Nobody really tells you that you're allowed to care what the company actually does. That the culture you work in, the values you're surrounded by, and the way leadership talks about people – all of that shapes not just your day-to-day experience but also your development, your confidence, and, honestly, your sense of self.

This session gives you a framework for thinking about that. We'll look at what certification like B Corp actually involves, why some companies pursue it and some don't, and what the research says about what it's like to work inside a values-led organisation versus one that's just good at talking about values.
