The Beginner Boxing Social 💗
For the girls who want to try boxing, but would prefer not to walk into a room full of men shadowboxing aggressively in the mirror.
We’re taking over Bay Breakers Boxing Gym in Pacific Heights for the afternoon. The entire studio will be bought out exclusively for Fairway Social, so it will be completely private and limited to just 20 women.
This is your beginner-friendly intro to actual boxing: fundamentals, partner work, ring time, and a chance to try something new alongside other women doing the exact same thing.
Saturday, September 19
Bay Breakers Boxing Gym, Pacific Heights, San Francisco
11:30 AM: Arrive, settle in, and get ready
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM: Two hours of boxing instruction
2:00 PM to ~2:30 PM: Snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and time to mingle
Hour one of instruction will cover the fundamentals, including stance, footwork, guard, punches, and movement. Hour two will move into partner drills and practice in the ring, giving you a real taste of boxing in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment.
No equipment needed. Boxing wraps and gloves will be available to borrow for free and are included with your ticket.
Because we’re buying out the entire gym, the space will be completely private to our group. No other classes, no random gym-goers, and no intimidating first-time walk-in experience. Just 20 women learning together.
This is for women who have always been a little boxing-curious, want to learn something new, or just want an excuse to do something they probably would not otherwise sign themselves up for. Come alone, meet new friends, learn a new skill, and let yourself be a beginner.
No experience needed. No ego required. Just show up and put the gloves on.
Refund Policy
Cancellations made within 5 days of the event, including the event day, are not eligible for a refund.
FAQs
Do I need boxing experience?
No. This class is designed for beginners and boxing-curious women. You do not need to know what you’re doing. That is quite literally the point.
Will we actually box?
Yes, but in a beginner-friendly way. The class includes fundamentals, partner work, and ring time. You’ll get a real feel for boxing without being thrown into anything unsafe or overly intense.
Will the gym be private?
Yes. Fairway Social is buying out the entire Bay Breakers Boxing Gym for the event. The studio will be completely private to our group and limited to only 20 women.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable athletic clothes you can move in and sneakers. Think workout class, not going-out outfit.
Do I need to bring gloves or wraps?
No. Wraps and boxing gloves will be available to borrow for free and are included with your ticket. If you have your own and prefer to use them, feel free to bring them.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely. Most women come to Fairway Social events solo. There will be time before and after the class to meet people, and part of the point is to make it easier to try something new while meeting new friends along the way.
What’s included with my ticket?
Your ticket includes the private gym buyout, two hours of boxing instruction, use of boxing wraps and gloves, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and time to mingle and meet the other women in the group.
