Reshaping Skills and Social Mobility in 2027 - Apprenticeship Diversity & Social Mobility Forum
Reshaping Skills and Social Mobility in 2027
Join us for the Apprenticeship Diversity & Social Mobility Forum, an online event exploring how we can widen access to apprenticeships, respond to a changing workforce and create meaningful pathways into employment in 2027.
The forum will feature two panel discussions bringing together voices from across employment, apprenticeships, skills and social mobility to examine what needs to change and how organisations can turn ambition into action.
Our first discussion will explore the implications of Alan Milburn’s review into youth inactivity and the challenges facing young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). We will consider what its recommendations mean for employers, training providers and communities, and how coordinated support can help young people access opportunities, sustain employment and progress.
Our second discussion will examine how employers recruit and develop apprentices and future talent as workforce needs evolve. What could changing jobs, AI adoption and new skills expectations mean for people taking their first steps into work? How can organisations adapt their recruitment and training approaches while widening access for people from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds?
Expect honest conversation about the barriers people face, the approaches showing promise and the practical changes needed to make skills development a stronger route to social mobility.
Hosted by Safaraz Ali MBE, Founder and CEO of the Multicultural Apprenticeship & Skills Alliance, this session is open to anyone with an interest in apprenticeships, inclusive employment and fairer pathways into work.
Come ready to listen, ask questions and help shape the conversation about skills and opportunity in 2027.
