Sport Psychology in Clinical Practice: Consultation Series

As we try to meet both the Mental Health and the Mental Performance needs of athletes, there's often a Gap where practitioners are trained in one area more than the other but need enough knowledge of both to have a deeper impact.

If you are a mental health practitioner wanting to deepen your sport psychology competencies or a sport psychology professional seeking to integrate more clinical depth into your conceptualizations, this is the course for you!

Join us for an intensive 5-week consultation series designed for professionals want to unlock another gear in their work with athletes.

Together, we will Bridge the Mental Health–Mental Performance Gap with case-based learning, consultation, and collaboration.

When: Mondays 11 AM-12 PM EST (Virtual)

  • May 25, 2026

  • June 1, 2026

  • June 8, 2026

  • June 15, 2026

  • June 22, 2026

Who This Is For:

  1. Clinical psychologists, counseling psychologists, registered psychotherapists, and other mental health practitioners with established clinical practices who want to expand their understanding of sport psychology to deepen their impact with high-performance athletes or performing artists.

  2. Dually-trained sport psychology practitioners (CMPC + RCC, CCC, psychotherapist) who want to deepen their understanding of clinical issues to feel more confident responding to athletes and performing artists' mental health concerns across the continuum.

What You'll Learn:

  • Differential assessment considerations for more accurate case conceptualizations

  • How to adapt evidence-based clinical protocols for athletes and artists

  • Navigate complex cases using an integrated Mental Health-Mental Performance framework

  • Understand sport-specific issues and dynamics (coach/parent relationships, performance culture) to deepen your impact

  • Attend to tricky issues and ethical considerations unique to high-performance populations

  • Connect mental health treatment to athletes' daily training environments

  • Improve collaborative care circles with coaches and other professionals working with athletes, such as Certified Mental Performance Consultants, to optimize athlete care across the Mental Health Continuum

Format: 5 weekly virtual sessions featuring clinical case examples, actionable skills, and discussion of tricky issues specific to working with high-performance populations.

Early Bird Bonus: Sign up by May 5th and receive 10% off registration.

This series Bridges the Gap between traditional clinical training and the specialized knowledge needed to effectively support athletes' mental health and performance.

Look forward to having you there!
