About Event

Rainforest Foundation Norway is convening donors and Indigenous organizations to discuss how funding can better support rights, livelihoods and territorial governance. A recent analysis from the Path to Scale IP and LC funding dashboard highlights considerable variation in thematic priorities and funding pathways across regions. With shrinking aid budgets, stronger coordination will be essential to maintain donor prioritization of collective tenure rights while avoiding fragmentation, duplication and misalignment.

The session will explore assessment criteria for fit-for-purpose funding, their application across different funding mechanisms and the roles of different actors in putting these principles into practice. Participants will identify areas of convergence and divergence and discuss practical opportunities to promote more effective, equitable, accessible, and locally led funding approaches.
