Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition
What if your next entrepreneurial opportunity began with an established business?
Join us on Tuesday, November 3, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at UW Tower for an evening conversation about Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA)—a path to entrepreneurship through buying, leading, and growing an existing business.
Presented in collaboration with UW Continuum College, the event will explore how ETA can create opportunities across healthcare, technology, services, manufacturing, and other industries. We’ll hear from Collin Hathaway, Founder of Skylight Capital, about his experience acquiring, leading, growing, and selling businesses, followed by a conversation with members of the Pacific Northwest entrepreneurship community.
Topics will include:
How to determine whether ETA is the right path for you
Finding and evaluating an acquisition opportunity
Financing, ownership, and leadership considerations
Supporting employees, customers, and communities through business transition
Candid lessons from the challenges and rewards of business ownership
Whether you are newly exploring ETA or actively considering an acquisition, this event will offer practical insights and an opportunity to connect with others interested in responsible business ownership.
Arrival and parking information
Given UW Tower’s proximity to the University District light rail station, we strongly recommend taking light rail or another form of public transportation. Street parking may also be available nearby, although availability is limited.
Please enter through the east/front entrance of UW Tower, across from the University District light rail station. Upon arrival, check in at the front desk and provide your name. Please bring a valid photo ID.
Limited visitor parking is available in the UW Tower garages. Garage entrances are located on 12th Avenue NE, between NE 43rd Street and NE 45th Street. Please allow extra time for parking, walking to the building, and completing the building check-in process.
Important: The garage entrance closes at 6:00 p.m. Guests who plan to park in the garage must arrive before 6:00 p.m. After entering the building, please proceed to the front desk to sign in and receive directions to the event space. You can also park on the UW Campus and walk over.
We look forward to seeing you.
Best,
Christy
