Leadership Series: People Centred Leadership in Practice with Garry Ridge
This session brings together philosophy and practice in people centred leadership. Garry Ridge, former CEO of WD-40 Company and Chairman Emeritus, will share the principles that shaped one of the world's most engaged cultures during his twenty five years as CEO. Under his leadership, WD-40 grew from a market capitalisation of $300 million to over $3.5 billion while maintaining employee engagement above 93% and 98% of employees reported they loved to tell people they worked at WD-40. He will reflect on servant leadership, purpose and the learning moments that helped build this environment where people felt safe, supported and connected to meaning.
Garry will then join his former chief of staff, Holly Guile, for a fireside chat on how these principles work in practice. They will discuss how trust is built in a CEO–chief of staff partnership, how decisions are made and how consistent routines support adaptability and alignment as organisations grow.
The session closes with a Q&A, offering members the chance to ask both Garry and Holly about their experiences and the lessons they can apply to their own leadership and partnerships.
