COP31 Leaders’ Summit Event on Forests
Co-hosted by Brazil, Guyana, Norway, Republic of the Congo and the United Kingdom, the Leaders’ event will showcase the growing momentum behind global efforts to halt and reverse forest loss by 2030. Leaders will highlight major advances in forest finance, including the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF), new Country Packages and progress on Indigenous Peoples’ and local communities’ land tenure. The event will also galvanise international support for the UN Decade of Afforestation and Reforestation for Sustainable Forest Management (2027–2036). It will demonstrate how governments are translating political commitments into tangible results, mobilising investment and driving action at scale. A powerful statement of collective leadership and determination to put forests at the heart of climate action and sustainable development.
