Osim Demokratia: Meet the politicians. In English

What is liberal democracy, what principles underpin it, and what challenges is it facing in Israel today?

Join us to learn more about Israel's political parties and hear different perspectives on the country's future. The event will feature a panel discussion and the presentation of Dr. Tomer Persico's book, Liberalism: its Roots, Values and Crises.

Panelists:
Gilad Kariv, Member of the Knesset, The Democrats
Lian Polak-David, Yashar! (Gadi Eisenkot’s party)
Yorai Lahav-Hertzanu, Member of the Knesset, Be’Yachad list
Ofer Cassif, Member of the Knesset, Joint List
Dr. Tomer Persico, Shalom Hartman Institute

The event's title, Osim Demokratia (Making Democracy), is a play on the Hebrew expression osim chaim (עושים חיים), meaning "having a good time" or "enjoying life". Here, the phrase takes on a different meaning: democracy does not sustain itself. It is built and upheld through people's participation.
