EA Ghent: An Evening on Effective Giving
As the year wraps up, many of us are thinking about donating to a good cause. But it’s not always clear where our donations do the most good.
What does the science say about where our donations can have the most impact?
Could we make our giving go further, just by thinking a little more carefully about where it goes?
These are the types of questions we’d like to explore during an evening on effective giving — a practical look at how to get more impact per euro, whether you’re giving €10 or €10,000.
It will be a casual evening in a relaxed living-room-style setting with a bar and plenty of space to mingle.
Mathieu Spillebeen from Effectief Geven, an independent advisory nonprofit focused on evidence-based giving, will share his ideas on what “effective giving” looks like in practice.
After that, we’ll open up the room for discussion, questions, and informal conversations over drinks.
It’s an evening to meet thoughtful people, compare approaches to charitable giving, and discover some tools that might help make your generosity go further.
