About Event

Strong child safeguarding systems depend not only on clear policies. They also require practical procedures that guide day-to-day action.

This interactive webinar will support Barnahus Network members in developing and adapting Standing Operational Procedures (SOPs) that translate safeguarding commitments into consistent practice.

Participants will review safeguarding SOP templates presented in the Child Safeguarding in Barnahus Guidance, explore how these can be adapted to local structures and workflows, and identify common gaps and inconsistencies that can weaken safeguarding responses. The session will also highlight the importance of ensuring that SOPs are aligned with organisational safeguarding policies and national legislation.

The webinar will combine practical examples, peer discussion, and opportunities for participants to reflect on the procedures currently used within their own contexts.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose and key components of safeguarding Standing Operational Procedures (SOPs);

  • Identify common gaps, inconsistencies, and implementation challenges in safeguarding procedures;

  • Adapt templates to reflect local structures, roles, and responsibilities;

  • Ensure alignment between safeguarding SOPs, organisational safeguarding policies, and national legislation;

  • Develop practical next steps for strengthening or establishing safeguarding SOPs within their own Barnahus.
