Terrible Turtle is a burning man camp and community forming around art, artificial intelligence, consciousness, and the future of being human. But more than that, it's a group of people who believe the future should be built with imagination ✨ intention 🧭 community 🏕️ and a sense of wonder.
These nights are how that future starts to look like something real: conversations by firelight 🔥 new collaborators 🤝 wild ideas 🧠 strange art 🎭 music in the dark 🎶 and the gradual realization that a lot of us have been looking for the same kind of people all along
We also believe that the spaces we gather in deserve care. The Gulch is a living place, and part of what Terrible Turtle stands for is leaving it better than we found it. We're actively developing stewardship and conservation plans for the land. Protecting native growth, restoring the soil, managing our footprint, and treating this site as a long-term home that gets stranger and more alive every year 🌱
We are excited to host Terrible Turtle's first voice activation, a song circle with Sophia Christine 🎤✨
We were never meant to sing alone. For centuries, people gathered around fires, in kitchens, under the stars, using music to come together, move emotion, and create harmony. It was never about being a great singer. It was about expression and connection.
The voice is where we hold the words we didn't say and the fear of being too much, too loud, too quiet, and it's where our greatest hopes live, waiting to be sung. Singing together clears whatever's holding back our fullest expression.

Sophia weaves her acoustic pop originals with kirtan-style singalongs. We'll get silly, have fun, and connect more deeply with ourselves and each other.
