Building Culture on High-Growth Teams: How People Leaders Create Belonging at Scale
Date: Friday, Sep 11th
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
About this virtual event
Most high-growth teams have figured out the hiring. The harder problem is everything else. Trust, belonging, culture, the stuff that used to happen organically and doesn't just show up because headcount doubled.
The question isn't whether fast-scaling companies can have strong culture. It's how do you build something that actually feels real when your team is growing faster than the systems meant to hold it together?
Some companies are throwing perks at the problem. Others are doing an annual offsite and calling it done. Most are somewhere in between, knowing something is missing but not sure what to fix first.
Our panelists:
Q Hamirani - Chief People Officer at HighLevel
Q is the Chief People Officer at HighLevel, one of the fastest-growing remote-first SaaS platforms, with over 1,200 employees working remotely across the globe. Before HighLevel, Q spent nearly five years at Airbnb as their first global People Operations leader, playing a key role through hyper-growth, the pandemic, workforce restructuring, and IPO. He is also the founder of PeopleGPT, a global community of people leaders and AI enthusiasts.
Clara Ma - Founder & CEO at Ask a Chief of Staff
Clara is the founder and CEO of Ask a Chief of Staff, the premier resource for Chiefs of Staff looking to secure high-impact roles and drive results, with a community of hundreds of members worldwide. Before founding the company, she was Chief of Staff to the CEO of Hugging Face, where she helped shepherd the company from its Series A to Series B, and later served as Program Director of On Deck's Chief of Staff Fellowship, growing its membership from 80 to over 400 Chiefs of Staff. Her background spans strategy, operations, and recruitment at early-stage startups, which means she's seen up close how culture holds together, or falls apart, as teams scale.
Kelly Kovacs - Founder & CEO of eaMAFIA
Kelly is a professional community for Executive Assistants supporting top leaders in tech and VC, and a General Partner at Zero Shot Fund, a venture firm in San Francisco founded largely by OpenAI alumni. Kelly's path into this work began in 2010, when she became EA to the CEO at Twitter—a role that evolved into Chief of Staff as she helped scale the company through its IPO. Kelly is passionate about career growth, self-advocacy, and the evolving role of the modern EA. She is based in Menlo Park, CA with her husband and two boys, and loves hiking, going to beach, and her dog, Dre.
In this live session, we'll get into what high-growth teams are actually doing to build culture that sticks, not just culture that looks good in a company deck.
Here's what we'll cover:
How the definition of "culture" has shifted for scaling teams heading into the second half of 2026
What high-performing teams are actually investing in to keep people connected as they grow
The biggest mistakes companies make when connection starts to break down at scale
How intentional in-person moments, offsites, team gatherings, and structured retreats, change the dynamic in ways that Slack and Zoom never quite can
It's a candid, behind-the-scenes conversation with people sharing what they're seeing across dozens of high-growth companies.
If you're a CHRO, Chief People Officer, VP of People, Head of People, HRBP, Chief of Staff, or Executive Assistant, this one is for you.
Offsite works with People and Operations teams to plan the moments that matter most. This is one conversation we didn't want to miss.
